Good value - Jessie -
I have been using the multimeter for over a year on odd jobs, PCB testing, checking batteries, etc, and it has performed as well as could be expected. That being said, it is the only multimeter I have owned, so don't have a really good basis for comparison. One thing to remember is to definitely splash out for the alligator clip probes, trying to hold the straight probes on components can be a hassle, and the readings will be all over the place until you get a solid connection to whatever you are testing. Anyway, I can't imagine why I would pay more for a higher end multimeter - this one seems to do the job!

The mount appears robust and sticks firmly to the windshield. Unfortunately, the adapter for the Scangauge II is a total failure. It is far too large and overlaps the Scangauge by a very large margin. Also, the attachment velcro adds to the impression of a poorly built product.

I took a jigsaw and extensively modified the adapter to better fit the Scangauge. Then, the velcro tape was discarded and the adapter was superglued in place. When assembled, the result is a usable mount at a good location -- low at mid-windshield.

The overall appearance is not unpleasant but not totally professional either if you look closely. I'll keep it until another professionally built mount is available.

This unit did not really work correctly from the start.
The more I attempted to use the unit the worse it read.
In a very short period of time I could not trust the readings,
even when matching the reading with a known temperature.
I would take a temperature - than take the temperature of the
same item within seconds, but get a different temperature reading.
I purchased this item from Max Tool.

This EZ-Scan on-board computer II scanner includes the newly released controller area network protocol, allowing for more capability and flexibility to manage the diagnostic process. This protocol is currently being used in a variety of vehicles and will be the mandated protocol in all new vehicles by 2008. It collects data from your vehicle's on-board computer and supports multiple trouble code requests including generic codes, pending codes, and enhanced codes. It also displays readiness test status and O2 sensor tests.

good product...Absolutely horrible company!!!!! - C. Patrick - FLORIDA
Have had this product for 3 yrs and has always worked great! The company recommends updating your software (free download) from their website. The scanner already comes with the cable that allows you to plug it into your laptop and the website gives instructions on how to perform update. Now remember, my unit was working perfectly before the update!!! After following the instructions the screen went completely blank and couldn't do anything with it. Called the company support and spent a lot of time trying different things to reset the unit. Nothing worked and had to send in the unit for a "flash" scan by them. Oh, and this was gonna cost me AT LEAST !! Got a call today that they were unable to just flash it, instead it needs an entirely new main board!! So in the end, my simple update that the company RECOMMENDS you do will cost me 9.49 to repair!!!! This is totally unreal to me that an update could fry my entire scanner. Like the subject heading says, Great product...Horrible company! Draw your own conclusion! Good luck!!
